My beyond the line question.

If you were Richards mother, would you have made him go and fight the gang of boys?

If I was Richards mother, I would not have made my son go and fight the gang of boys. Some reasons why is because he might of gotten killed, which I know you would not want to happen to your child. He most likely would of been beaten badly, and just left beaten up in the streets, or he would of been labeled as a punk. I would rather him be labeled as a punk, then him being beat up or killed.

My child being killed by a gang of boys, would be horrible. Honestly I would not have let my son or daughter just go to the store by themselves, especially at the age of 9 or 10. There are a lot of crazy people out in this world, you cannot trust anybody. They should have a type of guardian with them going to places. Especially since he had money on him, anyone could have snatched the boy up and killed him.

Being killed is already horrible enough, but being beat up is also horrible. Getting beaten up can cause you to be in the hospital or having damage done to your body or even your brain. Of course you should teach your child how to protect themselves out in these streets, but one person fighting a gang of boys would not end up so pretty. It causes a lot of damage.

"Your a punk!" That is how most people are labeled now a days. It's either because they do not no how to fight, or they just don't defend themselves. Most of the times people are really afraid of other people, because their either bigger or their just scared. A lot of times when they try and fight back, they usually get beat up anyway. So I wouldn't want my child getting beat up.

To wrap it all up, I most likely would not let my child fight the gang of boys because of these three very important reasons. If you for somewhat reason disagree with me, then prove me wrong. To be a good mother, you have to make the right decisions for your child. So start making them now!

My 4 In Between The Line Questions.

1) . Do you think that Richards mother was right for making him fight?

I think that she was right in one way, but wrong in another. She was right in a way because Richard needed to learn how to defend himself. Not only hisself but his mother also, because he didn't have a father there with them. But then again she was wrong because what if the gang of boys had guns and they would of shot him? That would of been his mothers fault for making him go to fight. So basically it's like half and half, because Richards mother could of been wrong, but then again right.

2) . What was the best part of the story to you and why?

The best part of the story to me was when Richard had finally decided to take it like a man, and go out to fight the gang of boys. I liked this part the best because it shows how he grew up, and overcame his fears. It also let the gang of boys no not to mess with Richard, which was kind of funny. Basically this is the best part of the story.

I will graduate in 2012.

Mr.Romero can you please grade me on my intro/conclusion and my voice. thanks :)

How many students does it take to screw in a light bulb? Well none unless they graduate, and I plan on being one of the many students graduating in 2012. Not every student graduates from high school and moves onto college. Sometimes they don't even have people supporting them at all. I only need 3 main things to support me which are, my family, friends and a job.

First off is my family. They support me through anything and everything no matter what. But my number one supporters are my mom, and my dad. They have been supporting me, and pushing me to do the best I can in school. The rest of my family are also good supporters, they all want the best for me. I will be the first girl in my family to graduate from high school and move onto college.

Secondly are my friends. Wow! What would I do without them. I've had friends come and go, but my real friends are the ones that stick by my side. They are my second supporters, my second family basically. Going through school and other personal things in my life, I can always count on them to give me advice.

Last but not least, is a job. That is like my third supporter through my whole life. I need a job in order to support myself, and also my family if I have one. It isn't that easy keeping a job now a days, people are getting fired. That's why I will go to college and have a good job to support myself through life.

In conclusion, I only need 3 things to support me through everything. Family, friends, and a job are most important right now. I will be one of those students screwing in a light bulb to graduate in the year 2012.

Thank You Ma'am.

Mr.Romero, please grade me on my transitions and my details. gracias :)

"Was I bothering you when I turned that corner?" were the words a very large woman said to a boy that was rather smaller than her. Ms.Luella Bates Washington Jones and Roger, the two main characters from the story "Thank You Ma'am" written by Langston Hughes. As you read this essay you will notice a lot of different things going on that I never noticed myself. You will also hear a lot about the two main characters. So pay close attention as I guide you through.

First off is Ms.Luella Bates Washington Jones, how could you miss her. She's just like your typical next door neighbor lady. She's tough and some say she's mean, but she also has a nice side to her. Some say she's a priest, who baptizes people. Ms.Jones is not someone you would want to steal from. Yes she is old, but don't think old ladies can't defend themselves because they can. You can't judge a book by its cover.

Next is Roger. A skinny young boy, who wants to fit in with the crowd. He thinks that stealing an older ladies bag is a nice way of buying what he wants. Well bad news its not, because Roger messed with the wrong lady. Of course that lady was Ms.Luella Bates Washington Jones, who put Roger in his place. Which is good because now he will learn his lesson, and stop trying to fit in with everyone else and be his own person.

In addititon to all this, I think this story teaches a lesson in many ways. I hope you  enjoyed this little trip through my essay of "Thank You Ma'am". I know that you have noticed a lot of things, also like I did. Remember you don't have to fit in with the crowd to be cool.

I choose Marilyn Monroe for my NHD Project because I am interested in her history, and since she was apart of the women's movement I think that it would be something interesting to research. She is an icon to all young girls, she was an actress, singer, and a model. Marilyn Monroe did it all. I think that she is a great person to do for my NHD project, and not only is she an icon, she is someone a lot of people look up to. So this is why i choose to do Marilyn Monroe for my NHD project.

Abortion and Birth Control.

Barack Obama strongly believes that  the state can properly restrict late-term abortions. He also said that we should have a provision to protect  the health of the mother, and many of the bills that came before him didn't have that. Part of the reason they didn't have it was purposeful, because those who are opposed to abortion have a moral calling to try to oppose what they think is immoral. What they were trying to do was to polarize the debate and make it more difficult for people, so that they could try to bring an end to abortions overall. Obama has been a leader in the Illinois legislature in the battle to protects a woman's right to choose and promote equal economic right and opportunities.

In ten years, I will be...

In 10 years, I will be 24 years old and already out of college and most likely a doctor. I will probably be happily married, with children and living a wonderful life. Money won't be a problem for me, I could share money with my whole family. My mom will always be apart of my life, and also everything I do. I will do the best I can throughout my life, and accomplish all my goals. Hope my dream comes true.
